Keeping a car without using it for a long time can cause damage by the time you want to use it again. If your car is going to stay for more than two months without usage, take the following tips.

1) Change the oil before the pause in usage. Leaving used oil without usage over a long time can make the oil corrosive and damage the engine.

2) Fill the fuel tank to prevent moisture build up that can lead to rusting.

3) Disconnect the negative terminal to ensure that battery is not drained.

4) Inflate tires to the optimum level to keep them from developing flat spots.

The most important thing is you need to run the engine on a regular basis. If your car remains unused for a long time, the engine might get damaged.

If you're not really planning to use your car for a certain period of time , it's very important to take proper precautions in order to prevent damage. I will recommend you fill up the gas tank and also change the oil regularly.
