The Dodge Caliber is a compact crossover type wagon produced by the Dodge division of Chrysler from model years 2007 through 2012. It replaced the Neon, which Chrysler discontinued in 2005, and the PT Cruiser. The Caliber went on sale in 2006 as a five door 5DR hatchback but with its appearance, it is often considered a station wagon or a crossover. The Caliber is one of the least expensive vehicles in the Dodge line up. Popular competitors to the Caliber have been the Chrysler Aspen, Dodge Avenger, Hyundai Accent and Dodge Caliber. In frontal crash tests, the Caliber was awarded five stars for its safety performance. In side-impact situations, it was also given the highest ratings for protecting the driver and rear passenger. As far as reliability, the Caliber reliability rating is 4.0 out of 5.0, which ranks it 16th out of 36 for compact cars. When Caliber was discontinued in 2012 the average MSRP was $18,380. |
