The Dodge Durango is a mid-size sport utility vehicle SUV produced by the Dodge division of Chrysler. The Durango was originally based off of the Dodge Dakota and features a body on frame construction that was produced at the Delaware assembly plant. The Durango 3rd Generation is built on the same platform as the Grand Cherokee and features a unibody design. The Durango also shares powertrains, chassis parts and running gear with the Aspen. When it comes to three-row SUVs, the closest rear-wheel-drive rival is the Ford Explorer. The Durango is currently the only SUV built by Dodge since the discontinuation of the Dodge Journey as part of Dodge’s move to a performance-focused brand. |
