It competes with other subcompact crossovers like the Mazda CX-30, Toyota C-HR, and Hyundai Kona. The Honda HR-V has generally been considered a reliable and safe vehicle. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the 2022 Honda HR-V an overall safety rating of five out of five stars, with four stars for frontal crash, five stars for side crash, and four stars for rollover.
