The Jeep Compass, and Jeep Patriot, a rebadged variant, are small crossover SUVs made and sold by Jeep that sits below the Jeep Wrangler as the entry level sport utility vehicle for the brand. Compass is one of the first Jeep crossover SUVs. Compass was a car based design built for the majority of small SUV buyers who wanted a fuel efficient runabout that was easy to drive. Car and Driver called the Compass a practical purchase with US News reporting it to be a smooth riding, affordable option within the compact SUV class. Popular competitors are several compact crossovers such as the the Nissan Rogue and the Honda CRV. Others have included the Hyundai Tucson, the VW Tiguan. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the 2022 Compass an overall safety rating of four out of five stars. The Compass Reliability Rating is 4.0 out of 5.0, which ranks it 11th out of 26 for compact SUVs. |
