The Lexus ES is a series of mid-size luxury executive cars manufactured by Japanese automaker Lexus, the luxury division of Toyota. The first five generations of the ES used the Toyota Camry platform, while the sixth and seventh generations are more closely related to the Avalon. The ES name stands for Executive Sedan. Variations of the series include the ES 240, ES 250, ES 300, ES 330 and ES 350 with the higher the number, the better the transmission, power and torque. Top competitors have been the TLX, XF, MKZ, Avalon, S60, A6, G80 and Q50. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the ES an overall safety rating of five out of five stars, with four stars in the frontal crash and rollover tests and five stars in the side crash test. As far as reliability, ES had a predicted reliability score of 84 out of 100 were 91-100 is considered the best. |
