The Nissan Rogue is a compact crossover sport utility SUV that debuted in 2008 and produced by Japanese automaker Nissan. The Rogue has is been Nissans best-selling vehicle in the United States and received five out of five stars for every safety test with exception only to the rollover test where it scored a four out of five. In 2010 Rogue was Awarded Consumers Digests automotive best buy of the year and the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration highest side impact safety rating. Top competitors have been the Escape, CRV, Tiguan, Outback, Kicks and RAV4, all of which are compact crossovers with similar exterior sizes, cargo space, and starting prices. Rogue is generally considered to be a reliable vehicle. It has received good ratings from Consumer Reports and J.D. Power. The Rogue gets decent fuel economy for a compact SUV. The base FWD model gets an EPA-estimated 26 mpg city/33 mpg highway. The AWD model gets slightly lower fuel economy, at 25 mpg city/32 mpg highway. Rogue also has a good amount of interior space for a compact SUV. It can seat up to five passengers comfortably, and it has a decent amount of cargo space. |
