In fact, according to Porsche, both the Cayman and Boxster cars are identical in terms of acceleration and top speed. Most of the differences in the Boxster and Cayman models can be found in their exterior design. The Boxster is a soft-top convertible model, while the Cayman is a hardtop model. Both have a maximum power of 300 horsepower, the ability to go 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds, and a top track speed of 170 mph. There are several rivals for the Cayman, such as the Toyota GR Supra, Lexus RC, and Nissan Z. Others more in line with the Cayman's exotic style and exclusivities include the Jaguar F-Type, Audi TT, and Chevy Corvette. As far as reliability, Cayman has about an average reliability rating when compared to other sports cars, according to consumer reports.
