The Toyota C-HR or CHR (which stands for Coupe High-Rider) is a subcompact crossover SUV manufactured by Japanese automaker Toyota since 2016. The C-HR seats five and is based on the same platform as the E210 series Corolla, and positioned between the Corolla and Yaris by size. Top competitors for CHR have been the Toyota RAV4, Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-30, Nissan Kicks, Subaru Crosstrek, and Hyundai Kona. Corolla Cross and RAV4 crossovers have become alternatives to the C-HR since it was discontinued in 2023. The C-HR has a distinctive and eye-catching exterior design, with a sharp and angular body shape, a sloping roofline, and prominent fender flares. It is available with a choice of two different engines, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 144 horsepower or a hybrid powertrain that combines a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor to produce a total of 121 horsepower. The C-HR comes with a range of features and options, depending on the market and model year, such as a touchscreen infotainment system, a backup camera, and Toyota Safety Sense, which includes pre-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning.
