All Tiguans feature two row seating and four cylinder engines. More than 700,000 Tiguans had been sold worldwide. The European New Car Assessment Program, or Euro NCAP, gave the Tiguan a FIVE STAR SAFETY RATING. The name Tiguan, pronounced TEE-GWAN, is a conjunction of the German words Tiger and Leguan and won a naming contest by German car magazine publisher Autobild.
