Complete details on what to expect from the final retail model are still under wraps, but what the new \u2018Vette can pull off already, even this early into its development cycle, has expectations through the roof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ZIYwH11nRL4\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the footage posted Wednesday by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UC2uLwAfrsteSdsEsB9fFY0A\">CarSpyMedia<\/a>, three different mid-engine prototypes \u2013 designated as numbers four, five, and seven \u2013 are tested on the so-called <em>\u201cGreen Hell\u201d <\/em>track, with each shrouded in digital camouflage paintjobs to hide any of the distinct changes among them. One thing all three prototypes had in common, however, were the distinct, thunder-like roar of their hybrid electric V8 engines, which were noticeably louder than your average, fairly quiet, electric vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Industry experts note that the loudness of the Corvette C8\u2019s engine leads them to believe that the C8 Stingray\u2019s 6.5-liter LT2 V-8 has been paired with the vehicle\u2019s hybrid-assisted powertrain, as opposed to the Z06\u2019s 5.5-liter LT6. But, despite the fact the LT2 is not as powerful as the LT6, it\u2019s coupling with an electric motor could more than make up for it, resulting in more speed, power, and \u2013 obviously \u2013 noise normally associated with muscle cars and not EVs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">BREAKING: An electrified <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Corvette?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Corvette<\/a> will be available as early as next year and a fully electric version to follow.
