Japanese automaker Toyota has revealed they are currently working on a new form of solid-state battery that would enable future electric vehicles utilizing the technology to boast super-impressive ranges of up to <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/toyota-boasts-battery-technology-745-190000672.html#:~:text=According%20to%20Toyota%2C%20as%20Yahoo,starting%20in%202027%20or%202028.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">745 miles and charging times of 10 minutes or less.<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Toyota has stated that new vehicles utilizing solid-state batteries could be available for purchase as soon as 2027 or 2028.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This new battery tech, if it is indeed as effective as Toyota claims, could be something that would shake the EV market to its very core and help to significantly drive its mass-market adoption by dispelling the two largest complaints against it by owners of internal combustion engine-based vehicles: range anxiety and long charging times.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Toyota boasts new battery technology with 745-mile range and 10-minute charging time \u2014 here\u2019s how it may impact mass <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/EV?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#EV<\/a> adoption<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Yu687vwpD2\">https:\/\/t.co\/Yu687vwpD2<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/zwmOKOyITX\">pic.twitter.com\/zwmOKOyITX<\/a><\/p>&mdash; in contrast, a mere 10 percent of respondents said that EVs are a better choice, especially when it comes to having to regularly recharge them for extended periods throughout the trip.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, Toyota \u2013 which has been slower to embrace the EV market than many of its competitors \u2013 has been working diligently on eliminating the battery-related issues that many early adopters of the technology have been griping about. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to their development of an advanced solid-state vehicle battery, they also revealed that they had signed an agreement with Tesla in October that will allow drivers of Toyota EVs to utilize Tesla\u2019s North American Supercharger network, which currently consists of 12,000 units and growing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Toyota will also begin to incorporate the North American Charging Standard (NACS) in electric vehicles that they produce from 2025 onward, which should greatly reduce the difficulty in finding standardized charging infrastructure for their customers when on the road.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While some people are understandably nervous about dipping their toes in the EV pool, these developments on the part of Toyota could potentially get many fence-sitters to change their mind.
