Theories of the etymology of the Lexus name have suggested it is the combination of the words "luxury" and "elegance," and that it is an acronym for "luxury exports to the U.S." According to Team One interviews, the brand name has no specific meaning and simply denotes a luxurious and technological image.

Even the official Lexus site welcomes you with the promise of comfort and luxury. This is clear in how they design their interiors to give you that "luxurious" feeling.

It also helps that the cars are reliable without the associated costs of other luxury cars.

There is a bit of difference, an elegant car could be even a classic model car while luxury is related to the term expensive car and contains a lot of features that make it expensive.

That resonates with the theory that the name stands for luxury and elegance. But man, you have got to marvel at the level of luxury the Lexus offers at the price it goes.

Over the years, Toyota has always proven itself to be a very affordable brand. We know what would have happened in terms of costing if Lexus was owned by another brand.

The name "Lexus" is derived from a combination of terms and ideas. It was created by the branding consultancy firm Lippincott & Margulies in the late 1980s when Toyota was preparing to launch its luxury division.

The name "Lexus" was chosen to evoke certain characteristics and qualities that Toyota wanted to associate with its new luxury brand. The goal was to create a name that sounded sophisticated, luxurious, and innovative while being easy to pronounce and remember globally.

The choice of "Lexus" was intended to signify luxury, excellence, and elegance. The brand sought to emphasize its commitment to delivering high-quality, refined, and technologically advanced vehicles that would compete in the luxury automobile market.

Overall, "Lexus" was crafted to be a distinctive and upscale brand name that would convey a sense of luxury and superior quality, helping Toyota establish a strong presence in the luxury automotive segment.

The Lexus brand is classic to me.
Didn't even know the meaning of Lexus up until now.
But I just felt relaxed in my Lexus car.

Thumbs up to the manufacturers
