Honda Sensing is a suite of driver assistance features that are designed to help drivers avoid collisions, stay in their lane, and maintain a safe following distance. Some of the features included in Honda Sensing are:
In addition to the features listed above, Honda Sensing also includes the following features on some models:
- Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS): This system uses radar and a camera to detect potential collisions with other vehicles or pedestrians. If a collision is likely, CMBS will automatically apply the brakes to help avoid or mitigate the severity of the collision.
- Lane Departure Warning (LDW): This system uses a camera to detect lane markings. If the vehicle starts to drift out of its lane, LDW will provide a visual or audible warning to the driver.
- Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS): This system works in conjunction with LDW to help keep the vehicle in its lane. If the vehicle starts to drift out of its lane, LKAS will gently steer the vehicle back into the lane.
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC): This system allows the driver to set a desired cruising speed. ACC will then automatically maintain that speed, even if the traffic ahead slows down.
- Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM): This system uses a camera to detect road edges. If the vehicle starts to drift off the road, RDM will provide a visual or audible warning to the driver and can also apply steering torque to help keep the vehicle on the road.
- Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR): This system uses a camera to detect traffic signs. TSR will then display the speed limit or other relevant information on the dashboard.
In addition to the features listed above, Honda Sensing also includes the following features on some models:
- Low-Speed Follow (LSF): This feature allows ACC to function at low speeds, such as in stop-and-go traffic.
- Traffic Jam Assist (TJA): This feature works in conjunction with LSF to help the vehicle stay centered in its lane and maintain a safe following distance in heavy traffic.
- Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB): This feature can automatically apply the brakes to help avoid a collision with a pedestrian or another vehicle.
