2009 CHEVROLET Cobalt

The Chevrolet Cobalt is a compact car that was produced by General Motors from 2004 to 2010. The Cobalt was designed to replace the aging Cavalier and was positioned as a more modern and upscale compact car. The Cobalt was offered with a range of engine options over the years, including a 2.0-liter supercharged inline-four and a 2.2-liter and 2.4-liter naturally aspirated inline-four. Depending on the engine, the Cobalt could produce between 145 and 260 horsepower and between 152 and 260 pound-feet of torque. The car was typically paired with a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission. The Cobalt was available in several different trim levels, including the base LS, the mid-level LT, and the top-of-the-line SS. Depending on the trim level, the Cobalt could be equipped with features like a sunroof, leather seats, and a premium audio system. The Cobalt was well-received by critics and customers, and it won several awards for its value, performance, and safety. However, the car was also involved in a major safety recall due to a faulty ignition switch that was linked to several accidents and fatalities.
