The Chevrolet Cruze, Ford Fiesta, and Honda Fit are considered top competitors to the Sonic. Sonic will perform well in most driving conditions and was assigned a 5 star NHTSA safety rating. According to RepairPal, the Chevy Sonic reliability rating is 4.0 out of 5.0. The Sonic requires repairs about five times a year, with an annual maintenance and repair cost averaging $536.
