The Chevrolet Volt is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle that was produced by General Motors from 2011 to 2019. The Volt was designed to be a practical and efficient vehicle that could offer extended range driving without the range anxiety associated with fully electric vehicles. The Volt was powered by an electric motor and a gasoline engine. The electric motor had a range of about 40 miles on a full charge, after which the gasoline engine would kick in to provide additional power and extend the vehicle's range. The gasoline engine could also be used to recharge the battery while driving, further extending the vehicle's range. The Volt was available in several different trim levels, including the base LT, the mid-level Premier, and the top-of-the-line LTZ. Depending on the trim level, the Volt could be equipped with features like leather seats, a touchscreen infotainment system, and a premium audio system. The Volt was well-received by critics and customers alike, and it won several awards for its innovative design and advanced technology. However, despite its popularity, General Motors announced that it would be discontinuing the Volt in 2019 in order to focus on producing fully electric vehicles. Volt was replaced by the Chevrolet Bolt EV and Bolt EUV.
