The Dodge Avenger is a mid size front wheel drive sedan built by the Chrysler Corporation. It made its debut in North American in 1995 as a two door coupe and was produced from the year 2000. In 2008 it was reintroduced to the market as a four door sports sedan. The Avenger name returned in 2007 as a sedan to replace the Dodge Stratus, whose coupe version had replaced the original Avenger in 2001. For the 2014 year the Avenger ranked within 22 of the best affordable midsize cars rated by US News and World Report. Popular competitors have been the Pontiac G6, Nissan Altima, Dodge Journey, Dodge Caliber and Dodge Nitro. The Avenger and the Toyota Camry are also both mid-sized sedans that are affordable. The Avenger was discontinued after 2014, though it lived on in some daily-rental fleets. The average MSRP of the 2014 Dodge Avenger was $21,590.
