The Durango was originally based off of the Dodge Dakota and features a body on frame construction that was produced at the Delaware assembly plant. The Durango 3rd Generation is built on the same platform as the Grand Cherokee and features a unibody design. The Durango also shares powertrains, chassis parts and running gear with the Aspen.
