The Jeep Patriot is a compact crossover sport utility vehicle SUV introduced for 2007 by the Jeep marque of Chrysler. It slots below the Liberty alongside the slightly more expensive Compass in the Jeep lineup. It is said to be one of the least expensive SUVs in North America and one of the lowest priced SUV crossovers to date. Patriot utilizes the same platform as the discontinued Dodge Caliber hatchback, an example of closeness to a more compact crossover. As far as reliability, Patriots reliability rating is 4.0 out of 5.0, which ranks it 15th out of 26 for compact SUVs.
