Model info:

Land Rover Discovery is an off-road focused mid size luxury SUV, from the British car maker Land Rover and later Jaguar Land Rover. Discovery was first introduced in 1989. The SUV blends a supremely luxurious interior with rugged off-road capabilities in a way that few rivals can imitate. Its competition is mostly from the Audi Q5, BMW X3, and Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class - all heavy-hitters in the compact to mid size luxury SUV segment, offering impressive tech, driving dynamics, and interior quality, respectively. Land Rover Discovery achieved a full five-star Euro NCAP safety rating when it was crash tested in 2017. As far as reliability, Discovery has a fair reputation in terms of reliability. J.D. Power gave the model a quality and reliability score of 72/100. Older and newer models have similar ratings.
