The Lexus IS, originally sold under the Toyota Altezza is some markets, is a executive vehicle sold by Lexus and produced as a direct competitor to the luxury sports sedans such as the A4, 3-Series, CT4, G70, and C Class. The IS was introduced as a sport model slotted just below the ES models in the Lexus lineup. Lexus is highly reliable, according to Consumer Reports earnings high marks for a smooth ride, advanced technologies and bing one of the most reliable cars on the road. As far as safety, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the Lexus IS an overall safety rating of five out of five stars. The IS is available in 200, 200T, 250, 250C, 300, 350, and 350F Sport variations. The IS was used by many racing teams, including TRD to race in various touring racing series across Asia. In Europe, the Lexus IS was raced in the British Touring Car Championship through BTC Racing and in the US via the Motorola Cup North American Street Stock Championship touring car series with Team Lexus. JD Power named the IS the BEST VEHICLE in the entry luxury class in its Initial Quality Survey.
