The Cooper and Cooper S are trim levels of the Countryman, similar to how the S is a trim level of the regular MINI Cooper. The Cooper is the base trim level of the Countryman, and it comes with a 1.5L turbocharged three-cylinder engine that produces 134 horsepower. The Cooper S is the higher-performance trim level, and it comes with a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 189 horsepower. Both the Cooper and Cooper S Countryman come standard with front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is available as an option. Both trim levels are also available in a plug-in hybrid version, which is called the Cooper SE Countryman ALL4.
