Porsche Cayenne is a mid-size luxury crossover manufactured by the German manufacturer Porsche since 2002. Its platform was developed by Porsche and was shared with the Volkswagen Touareg (first generation models). Although the Cayenne shares its platform, body frame and doors with the Touareg, all other aspects of vehicle design, tuning and production are done in-house at Porsche. Two of its biggest rivals are the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV. The Audi Q8 and Land Rover Range Rover Sport are also larger than life luxury SUVs that compete with the Cayenne although Consumer Reports and J.D.
