2009 Volkswagen Routan Minivan

The Volkswagen Routan is a minivan produced by the German automaker Volkswagen from 2008 to 2014. It was based on the Chrysler RT platform and was built in the United States by Chrysler at their Windsor Assembly Plant. The Volkswagen Routan was designed to offer a more luxurious and stylish minivan option to consumers than the Chrysler minivans on which it was based. It featured a distinctive Volkswagen front grille and was available with a range of upscale features such as leather upholstery, a rear-seat entertainment system, and a power liftgate. The Volkswagen Routan was available with two engine options: a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produced 283 horsepower and a 3.8-liter V6 engine that produced 197 horsepower. Both engines were mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. While the Volkswagen Routan was generally well-received for its stylish design and upscale features, it was not as popular as some of its competitors in the minivan market.
