2005 VOLVO S80

The Volvo S80 is a mid-size luxury sedan that was produced by the Swedish automaker Volvo Cars from 1998 to 2016. It was the successor to the Volvo 960/S90 and was designed to compete with other luxury sedans such as the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The S80 was known for its sleek and understated design, which emphasized function and safety over flashy styling. It was equipped with a range of advanced safety features, including a Whiplash Protection System (WHIPS) and Side Impact Protection System (SIPS), which helped it earn high safety ratings from organizations such as the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Under the hood, the S80 was available with a range of engines, including a turbocharged 5-cylinder engine, a naturally aspirated 6-cylinder engine, and a V8 engine. It was also available with a range of features such as a premium sound system, a navigation system, and heated seats. Other top competitors to the S80, outside of the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, are the Audi A6, Lexus GS and Acura RLX. The S80 was eventually replaced by the Volvo S90, which features a more modern and dynamic design, as well as a range of new features and technologies.
