Both the Freemont and the Journey were manufactured at the same assembly plant until Journey took over production and was renamed the Freemont. The Dodge Journey received a 4 star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The Journey shares similarities with the Dodge Avenger and has an identical wheelbase to the outgoing short wheel base of the Chrysler minivan, and slightly shorter wheelbase than the Chrysler Pacifica.
