The Flex replaced the Ford Freestar minivan and was the first crossover utility vehicle to feature both minivan and SUV properties, though it is not a proper minivan. The Ford Flex has seating capacity for up to seven people and is a good fit for families seeking the ability of an SUV in a crossover sized vehicle. Top competitors in its class have been the Pacifica, Enclave, Pilot, Traverse, Palisade and Highlander. As far as reliability, RepairPal gives it a decent 3.5 out of 5.0 rating, ranking it 7th out of 8 in its class.
