It was designed to be a modern interpretation of the classic Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser, with a boxy shape, round headlights, and bold styling. The FJ Cruiser was built on the same platform as the Toyota 4Runner, but with a shorter wheelbase and unique exterior styling.
